School Educator/Counselor

The School Educator/Counselor position was first filled in 2016.  A full job description remain in development. The primary purpose of this position is to support students that are have a difficult time transitioning at Girls State with things such as home sickness, difficulty fitting in, crisis occurring at home, etc. If possible this person will administer the North Dakota Civics exam to interested Girls State Citizens or will assist the board in finding an eligible person to administer the exam.

He/she will coordinate an informational fair that will be held at Girls State. With the Girls State Board, the Educator/Counselor will identify various “vendors” to invite to the information fair to share their message with Girls State citizens.

The School Educator/Counselor will assist the government and other Girls State staff as needed with daily operations.

The School Educator/Counselor may receive one-way mileage for attending Girls State and a $200 stipend. He/she must be able to attend Girls State from June 12-17, 2022.
