City moms are American Legion Auxiliary members who, in some ways, act as a Girls State citizen’s mom/grandma away from home. She helps during Girls State with whatever is needed, including encouraging citizens to run for office, supporting them in activities, and helping citizens feel comfortable being at Girls State.
A City Mom will be chosen for each city. City Moms may receive mileage one way for attending Girls State. A Grand Mom will be selected from the applicants for City Moms and will serve as the leader for all City Moms. She may receive mileage and a $50 stipend. City Moms should be able to attend Girls State from June 8-14, 2024.
Applications for 2024 City Mom are due May 15, 2024, or until all City Mom positions are filled.
